The image should be fairly current and portray you in an accurate manner. Many people chose to believet that time has not passed them by and use a photo taken 10-20 years ago.

Another mistake that is made involves body image issues. There is a place in the profile sign up process where you can include your body type. If someone is not atheletic and tone and is 20 lbs overweight, they should not portray themself in a false manner. Feelings get hurt and people waste valuable time chasing something that probably is not going to happen. The worst thing is to mislead your potential date. It always comes back to haunt you!

Another faux pas is to start describing all the things you don't like about someone in your profile. Stick with the positive and you will get much quicker and better results. Free internet dating can be rewarding and fun!
