An example of how NOT to break up with someone:
My boyfriend was driving me to a friends house where I was meeting up with a bunch of my girl friends to go out to dinner for someone's birthday. Out of nowhere, he told me he didn't want to be together anymore, dropped me off, and sped off. I like to call it the dump and run. Needless to say I had to attend the birthday dinner with a splotchy tear-stained face, and no ride home.
Do it in person:
Breaking up via email is not classy. At the very least, your friend deserves a face to face encounter. Even a few tears . . .

My boyfriend dumped me via MSN... how courageous is that, right? Of course we had a long distance relationship but a few days ago I was at his place so, would have been maybe more appropriate to do it by then... No he just preferred the easy way for him, then didn't have to face my tears. Weak!
