The way I was brought up, I would get insulted if I had to split the bill. Not to say that I can't afford it or am just plain greedy. Quite the opposite. But to me if a guy is a gentelman, he will pay without asking. If he wants to split the bill, it tells me he is a Gigolo and I will never go out with him again.

I started dating a guy who was unrelenting about paying the bill- he always wanted to. I didn't think I'd ever have a problem with that, but it actually started to make me feel bad. I think it's polite to continue to offer, even if they say no, or as we eventually did...rotate every time you go out.
