-- Buy a phone card from someplace like Sam's, where you get a TON of minutes! Cell phones are great, too, if you have plenty of minutes and a good network. When my husband and I were dating, more than 900 miles apart, we went through those phone cards like mad! (We didn't have great cell phone plans at the time.)
-- Invest in a webcam. It makes a huge difference if you can see one another!
-- I know e-mail and chat are conveniences, but once in a while write a hand-written letter and send it. It can add to the romance.
